The Quietus, an online music, arts and culture publication, has now long been at the heart of some of the UK’s best journalism. However, in recent years they have been venturing further and further into other artistic endeavours: they’ve set up a record label to release music by East India Youth, Grumbling Fur and The Charlatans; run a series of gigs and club-nights, as well as hosted stages at festivals all over the world. Well now co-founder Luke Turner, along with Ethan Reid, has set about making a series of films that catch artists at their leisure, discussing their hobbies and passions outside of music.
We are pleased to be showing a selection of them.
Tim Burgess (the Charlatans) on making coffee and setting up Tim Peaks Diner
Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds) on Tiki culture
Stephen Morris (New Order) on his military vehicle collection
Darren Haymen (Hefner) on trains
Cosey Fanni Tutti (Throbbing Gristle/Carter Tutti) on vegetable gardening
This is a free event. Just turn up.
