On the morning of Sunday, September 28th, many of you will still be in bed shaking off hangovers or having that well-earned lie in. However, thousands of others will be taking to the streets of Sheffield to run the 10k Great Yorkshire Run.

To makes things a little more interesting, Sensoria will be lending a hand and making the event a little more musical. A variety of bands and performers will be scattered along the length of course, keeping up momentum for the thousands of runners descending on the city.

Performers include: the acoustic pop of the Early Cartographers, community choir Glee Bah Gum, ragtag bunch Cocklebread, singer-songwriter Ryan Young, the bluegrass/folk hybrid of Little Robots and St Luke’s Hospice’s own curated stand.

The Bupa Great Yorkshire Run launched in 2007 and took Sheffield by storm, with almost 5,000 people taking part in the very first event.

Many famous faces and world-class athletes have made their way to the steel city to run the 10k, including Benita Johnson, Freya Murray and Olympic medallist Eliud Kipchoge.

The event has grown into a weekend of family fun and now includes the Bupa Junior & Mini Great Yorkshire Run, as well as live musical performances entertaining the crowds throughout the course and across the city centre.

The past five years has seen the number of entrants almost double, as the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run continues to bring a great day of running to Sheffield.
